Think about it!
“You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it." Adrian Rogers, 1931

Amen sister, Amen - why won't our politicians listen? Are we going to have to have another revolution or civil war to make things right again? Thanks for sharing, I know I will pass it on!
Ann,
The profound thing that stands out to me is this paragraph of speech was from 1931, one of the most dire times as far as economics in our country! I remember my great grandmother telling me how during the depression they essentially survived on potatoes, sweet potatoes and onions. After her husband died she would not accept any sort of assistance.
I have wondered about the next revolution, I don't think its a matter of "if", it will be a matter of "when".
I think I can already hear my grand kids saying to me "what the hell were people thinking"
Val
A-MEN.
seriously.
